FLEXing -2
I am done with the Flex Builder 2 Getting Started Guide. And as someone commented here, Flex is indeed like a crush. You kinda fall in love with it(As of me, I keep falling in and out of love
). Flex makes the Internt beautiful. My first application was a panel with a button, clicking which, a message would be displayed, first blurred and slowly sharpening the characters to reveal a string. Any guesses as to what string is being displayed below?

My second application was a BlogReader that downloaded RSS feeds from my blog and displayed it. I could read the RSS feed of the blog, or could navigate to the original page :

This was made following exactly what was mentioned in the beginner’s guide.I had little trouble with it displaying the RSS feeds as Norton wouln’t let it communicate with the Internet, but finally everything was OK.
One of the finest open source products I’ve loved so much is the GIMP (which is again a recursive acronym standing for Gimp Image Manipulation Program ) , and I mention this because I used it to crop the above screenshots to put it here. Though I haven’t used Adobe PhotoShop, I like to believe it is as (or perhaps more )powerful than PhotoShop , no offence to Adobe (lol!). The best part is, it is less resource consuming than PhotoShop. You can freely download the GIMP installation files for Windows here.
As for Techtatva, it is going great guns, with a number of workshops lined up here, though I personally feel ID could have given a better description of the workshops. Whoever put those updates, can successfully make mountains look like molehills.
