there are people intrested in ubuntu its just that there are not many people who can guide them, i have installed ubuntu on 10 laptops and have given them basic info about that and they are happily using it, and about the ubuntu-FOSS-workshop large number of people were not aware about any such thing and also there was this E2 Labs workshop same day because of which i could not attend it, anyway looking forward for more such things

I did attend the Ubuntu-FOSS workshop only to be pained at seeing such a low turnout!! Only 30 people! People at MIT damn care about these things.
Btw am eagerly waiting for release of Gusty Gibbon so that I may install it over my Edgy. Edgy isnt giving good performance when compared to Feisty which simply rocks.
And with reference to Gooubuntu,AFAIK Google has denied releasing it to general public. A bit sad news.
And yes, am happy to see you blogging. Students in Manipal rarely blog.

Agree with you on Ubuntu. Easy as pie and good looking too! We're glad to see some of the other vendors following our lead...customer choice is the best policy :)

As for file sharing with a Windows machine, this shouldn't be a problem with the built in Samba in Ubuntu (Fiesty). I am able to see Windows shares on the network and transfer files. Windows-based games 'can' be a possibility by using something like Cedega. Virtualization, is also a snap with VMWare. Also try VirtualBox, it's free and installation is simple with all library dependencies automatically installed from the debian package.

We're ramping up for Gutsy, but in the meantime you can get the latest Dell re-mastered Fiesty 7.04 as reported on this Direct2Dell blog post
